COBRA TRAPSHOOTER RADAR LASER DETECTOR RD-3182 TESTED $49.99 |
What should I do about my ticket in Darien County, Georgia?
I received a ticket at around 6 AM this morning for going 80 in a 60 in a construction zone, clocked by radar.
There were NO workers in the construction zone.
I don’t believe I was going 80, but maybe I was delusional since I had been driving through the night.
There was a car in front of me that was was definitely driving faster than me as he was pulling away from me before we reached the cop.
I had a radar detector and noticed the cop from about 1/2 mile to 1 mile out and I slowed down so I don’t believe I was going 80. I did not ask for an accuracy test on the speed. Was that a mistake?
What should I do now that I have the ticket? Will I be charged double for the construction zone? What are some good attorneys in Darien County, GA that I can use?
Also, I am 21 and go to college. I haven’t had a speeding ticket for 5 years and haven’t had any other tickets besides that one.
Also, I am not from the state of Georgia. Not sure if any of these things matter?
Pay the ticket, learn your lesson, get on with life.
Just because you didn’t see anyone in the construction zone doesn’t make it any safer to speed there. Consider the man who recently caused 100,000 dollars in damage to a freshly paved road, but was only fined 20 dollars. The extra safety isn’t only to try to keep workers lives safe, it’s to prevent stupid stuff from happening in construction zones, as they tend to be more constricted.
Is saving a few minutes of your time worth risking your life and the lives of others? No wonder it’s saver to fly in a plane than it is to drive… and strangely more people are scared of flying.
