xrs 9950 radar ka-alert constantly on, is it faulty or anyone know why it keeps reading ka alert?

I got a cobra xrs 9950 radar, and ive had it for about 3 weeks. the first week it was fine and detected cops, but then the next couple of weeks it constantly stays on ka alert at full. When im driving around the suburbs or even on the highway it always displays ka-alert at full 5 points. ocasinaly it will stop for about a min and then start all over again. i know KA is a cop radar but there cant be a cop constantly on me lol ( unless they are following me =P )

anyone have any clue how to fix this or what is causing this? it is mounted on my windshield right above my wipers ( so its pretty low ) i got a 325i bmw.
